Our Alpacas

We currently have 22 alpacas here at Starrywell all of whom are registered with the British Alpaca Society and here's a little bit about some of them.

CASPIAN, CONNAL & COALBY

These were our very first boys, Coalby is the son of Lass and Caspian is the son of Sasha.

BORDER REIVER

When we decided on having a breeding herd, we purchased Reiver to have as our on site 'Stud'. He's a lovely lad but doesn't half attract the dirt and although you wouldn't know it sometimes he is actually white.

LASS

Norwegian Lass was one of the first girls we bought, along with Betty her daughter and Sasha. She is also the mum of Aeryn. She likes to be seen as The Boss particularly at meal times!

BETTY

We bought Betty as a pregnant female however we resigned ourself to the fact she won't have her own cria and will forever be just the auntie. She does love to eat from your hand though.

SASHA

Sasha is the noisy one and will be the one you hear making an alarm call if anything strange is about. She is also the one that makes the most noise during husbandry tasks.

TENA

Tena was one of a further 3 pregnant females we bought and the mum of Angus. She is the tallest alpaca we have here and has a lovely temperament.

FANATIC & ARIA

Fanatic is the mum of Aria and they are like two peas in a pod with their mop tops.

DARTAGNA

Dartagna is the unassuming one of the herd, never any bother however she does quite often give us a fright when she plays dead in the field!

aNGUS

Angus is the son of Tena and our very first cria born here at Starrywell. He's a bit of a cheeky chappie and will happily eat from your hand.

ARCHIE

Another of our first born cria here at Starrywell, Archie is the son of Sasha. He's a lovely lad but stands his ground too.

AERYN

Aeryn was born here at Starrywell too and when her fleece starts to come in she becomes one big ball of fluffiness. She also has the most gorgeous eyes.

Would you like to adopt a Starrywell alpaca? Choose who you would like to adopt and you will receive a photograph, a Certificate of Adoption, some information about your alpaca as well as some fun facts about alpacas. You will also be entitled to a further free visit to see how your alpaca is doing. Unfortunately this doesn't buy you the alpaca!
